The Art of Brewing with a Moka Pot: Discover the New Standard with MiiR

An introduction into the New Standard Moka Pot and the cultural connections we strive to uphold with this modern take on a classic coffee preparation method dating back to the 1930s.

There’s something special about brewing coffee with a moka pot. Invented in 1933 by Alfonso Bialetti, the moka pot revolutionized home coffee brewing, making rich, espresso-like coffee accessible to everyone. Its iconic design and simple yet effective brewing method have made it a staple in kitchens worldwide, synonymous with quality and tradition.

At MiiR, we believe in honoring this rich legacy while adding a modern twist.

Understanding the culture behind coffee. Listening to the people who have a deep connection with coffee. Creating new connections between coffee and our history. This is how we approach product design in the world of coffee.

We spent over a year perfecting the New Standard Moka Pot with our friends at Don Carvajal Café to create a moka pot that improves function and pushes innovation. And we must say, we made something special together.

“We want you to have the best experience with this moka pot” - Hector Carvajal

Whether you're a seasoned moka pot enthusiast or a curious beginner, let us guide you through the essentials of this brewing method and why our design stands apart.

How to care and keep your New Standard Moka Pot clean

Proper cleaning is essential to keep your Moka Pot in great shape and ensure every cup tastes its best. Follow these simple steps:

  1. Disassemble: Always allow moka pot to cool before handling. Then, separate the top chamber, filter basket, and bottom chamber after each use.
  2. Rinse thoroughly: Rinse all parts with warm water. Avoid using soap, as it can leave a residue that affects the coffee’s flavor.
  3. Dry completely: Allow all parts to air dry before reassembling to prevent rust or mold.
  4. Deep clean occasionally: Use a mixture of 2 parts water and 1 part vinegar to descale the pot every few weeks.
