Spout design causes liquid to run down the front of the vessel. Miir offered instructions on how to pour and also a refund. Rather than return/waste the product I wipe the spillage away while decanting. The rest of the features are as advertised. Would be five stars if it didn’t spill a little every time.
I really wanted to love this, but...
Like the title says, I really wanted to love this french press, but in the end I just can't recommend it. It's sad too because it's beautifully made and the idea of it is great, but the execution is completely off. First, it's impossible to pour cleanly unless you are exactingly vigilant in your pour speed and angle. And who could possibly have this dexterity before their first cup in the morning? Coffee invariably dribbles down the side of the pot and all over everything. I made a mess of my countertop the first morning I tried it. Despite some of the comments faulting the lid position, lid or lid off, there is no way to pour cleanly. Second, I could not for the life of me get the lid off again to remove the brewing basket. The rubber seal against the inside of the pot is way too tight and there is no edge on the lid to get a firm handhold for prying it out. I stupidly pulled on the knob, trying to get the lid off that way, and almost burned my hand on the exposed, and very hot, metal plunger. I just proceeded with the basket left in the pot, which kind of defeats the purpose of the fancy design. Finally, there is a large enough gap between the brewing basket and wall of the pot for coffee grounds to escape. Even with the plunger and screen correctly clicked into place, your cup of coffee will end up having stray grounds swirling around in it. Unless the designers address these shortcomings, I would not recommend buying this french press. That said, I really hope that they do fix these problems because the removable brewing basket is a great idea and I love the stainless steel double-wall pot. This has the potential to be a really great french press, but it just isn't there yet.

Hi KC. Thank you for taking the time to write a thorough review of our French Press. Our customers are our most valuable product testers. All of your points are completely valid and have been passed along to our design team. Thanks for your loyalty to MiiR and our apologies for not meeting your expectations on this product. We hope you can give us another chance.
Poor quality
Our french press came out of the box with warped seals and melt marks. Outside of obvious manufacturing defects, the design is finicky and overly complicated.
Fail
I have really tried to find something good about this French press. I bought it without reading the reviews because everything I have bought from MIIR is top notch, high quality and the customer service is over the excellent. It drips, doesn't strain well despite the new design cup and the screen has bunched up all around the edge-thought I could find another use for it-maybe watering plants outside? I think it's going to the thrift shop-it does look nice on a shelf. Tried to embrace it, ended up buying a Secura- less $, stainless steel, came with an extra screen and doesn't drip, and looks nice. Sorry, MIIR this one needs to go back to the drawing board!
