Cold brew is having a moment. In fact, did you know that Cold Brew Coffee now accounts for about 20% of coffee sales in the U.S.? This iced coffee trend continues to surge, with cold brew growing rapidly across cafes and coffee shops everywhere, and with good reason. It’s smooth, rich, and packs a caffeine punch that’s perfect for long summer days.
But this isn’t just about your typical cold brew. We’re sharing a refreshing new take on it: Turkish-style cold brew—a flavorful, aromatic spin that’s easy to make at home. This recipe not only amps up your cold brew experience but also provides a fun, easy way to enjoy a unique coffee brew at home.
Cold brew: a smoother take on iced coffee
Before we dive into the recipe, let's take a moment to talk about why cold brew is taking the coffee world by storm.
-
Smooth and Low-Acidity: Cold brew is made with coffee grounds steeped in cold water over a long period of time. This method reduces the acidity, making it smoother and easier on the stomach than traditional hot-brewed coffee.
-
Stronger & More Caffeinated: Cold brew is typically brewed with a higher coffee-to-water ratio, resulting in a stronger and more concentrated flavor. It’s a great choice if you want that caffeine boost without the bitterness.
-
Versatile: Whether you enjoy it straight, over ice, with milk, or as a base for creative coffee drinks, cold brew is incredibly versatile, and with so many on the go drinkware options, making it at home and taking it on the go has never been easier.
